Retired A.F. Col. Mike Turner is really on to something here: an achievable, stable, free Iraq. It's not a single Iraq, but a confederation of three autonomous states, each representing the three major cultural/religious groups in the country. Read up on it.

But because it's smart and goes against the neocons' plans for their puppet Iraq, they'd never consider it. They'd rather waste time and countless lives attempting to force their feckless vision onto the region.
