More numbers from work

When I arrived at the restaurant Friday night, it was just shy of 110°F in the kitchen. That's really, really hot. The owner made the cooks put the exhaust filters back in the hood, which is about the only means of decent air circulation back there. The window fan did nothing to blunt the brutal heat, and needless to say, it took its toll on the dinner crew on the line. They seemed totally beat when I got there, and barely able to stumble out to go home.

Nothing like life in the kitchen, eh? It's forecast to be over 90 tomorrow, so I'll be forgoing my chef's coat in exchange for a nice, light kitchen shirt. To hell with uniforms like that when it's this hot out, I say.
