A farewell

Eldridge Moore, Jr. was laid to rest yesterday afternoon. Our family met the Moores in 1979 when we moved in next door to them in the 19th Ward of Rochester. The common thread of the game of bridge paved the way for a lifetime friendship for my parents and Eldridge and Sarah.

He was someone whose example we can all follow; someone whose life we could all take a little bit of with us, and try to emulate.

Eldridge Moore: man, husband, father, grandfather, bridge champion, educator, jazz aficionado, even-tempered, kind, generous, and a warm-hearted human being.
