House Majority Leader and resident Legislative Kook Tom DeLay advocated revenge of some sort against the court for not intervening with the Shaivo case. Those nasty activist judges! How dare they defy the Will of the All-Powerful GOP?
It's one more step in the extremist right-wing's attempts to consolidate power and remove obstacles and adversaries in their quest for absolute rule. The system of checks and balances has served us well for 200+ years, and they want to gut the judicial branch so they're not accountable for their decisions, and so that nobody can stop them.
What are they doing to our country? I wonder how DeLay would like it if someone threatened him? At the risk of being sent to some brig or Gitmo, I say that Tom DeLay ought to be held accountable for his words and actions, his disregard for the Constitution, and his disdain for our republic. I think they should strap him into a straight-jacket and lock him up in a padded room in the dank base-ment of some 19th-century nut-house, and beat him with a rubber hose.
